Our commercial customers and prospective customers’ core competency is not energy, rather it’s creating value in their own industry and vertical. With that said, there are two types of C&I customers as it relates to Top Chord, 1.) those who have internal energy expertise on staff who manage and direct energy decisions related to energy supply and consumption and 2.) those who do not have that expertise in house.

For those companies who are described by the former and have internal resources responsible for making key recommendations on improving your company’s energy profile, Top Chord can complement your capabilities with independent insight and guidance. We are not biased by the product that we manufacturer or rep; rather we are technology and vendor agnostic and will assist you in identifying and implementing the best solution possible for your business.

For those companies who do have the size or breadth to justify or fund internal energy experts, Top Chord can provide the necessary energy insights to your business to ensure you have the best energy strategy today as well help keep an eye out for tomorrow.

Agricultural Customers

Our agricultural customers are focused on farming – from seed to harvest (or slaughter) to sale. Where Top Chord adds value is enabling the farmer to farm while we work to keep his electricity costs in check. The power required to drive irrigation system or heating & cooling systems is a material operating expense, so we focus on creating solutions to help the Coop optimize the electricity supply and keep costs low without disrupting the farmers operation. As Coops are non-profit entities created to serve their customer, we too are focus on solutions that serve the farmer, the Coop and the community as a whole.

Special Financing – Our agricultural projects can leverage available farm credits and subsidized agricultural loans supplemental to federal and state tax credits (depending on state), which all collectively can make the project not only financially possible and but also create an impressive return for our agricultural customers.

Land Development – In additional to specific energy solutions available to the agricultural community, Top Chord also offers advisory service to support the development of land for energy projects. As is often the case energy project developers often court landowners to lease their property for a potential project offering attractive rents for terms that often range between 15 and 50 years. The developer, develops the land and earns a significant return for their work and creativity, while the land owner is often earning more than they would for leasing the land for agricultural activities. Top Chord’s services are targeted to those landowners who have the capital and interest to pursue larger returns. We partner up together and follow an approach that allows us to prosper together while helping the local community in the process.
